Goodwill of Western MO & Eastern KS recognizes local individuals and businesses of excellence
Kansas City, MO – The non-profit agency Goodwill of Western Missouri and Eastern Kansas announced the five 2016 Power of Work Awards Winners on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, during a luncheon event hosted at the Grand Street Cafe. The Goodwill Power of Work Awards showcases individuals and area businesses illuminating our local community one life, one job, and one opportunity at a time with the power of work that emanates from employment.
Goodwill recognized Scott Sheldon, a Goodwill client employed by Enterprise Holdings in Merriam, Kansas as the 2016 Power of Work Individual Honoree for his perseverance in finding employment. He is talented, capable and motivated, yet employers often overlooked him due to a hearing impairment. After years of looking for work, Sheldon interviewed with Jon Schneider of Enterprise Holdings.
